Ersilia Vallefuoco graduated cum laude in Biomedical Engineering in 2016 and she received the PhD in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering in April 2020 from the University of Naples Federico II.

Her main areas of expertise are serious games, technologies for people with disabilities, mixed-reality training and simulation in healthcare. In particular, her research is focused mainly on the validation and the use of personalised serious games for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Moreover, she is involved in different research projects to support interventions for people with neurodevelopmental disorders and to promote their social inclusion using new technologies.

For her research, she actively collaborates with the SInAPSi centre of University of Naples Federico II, the Department of Translational Medical Sciences, University of Naples Federico II, and the rehabilitation centre “Centro Medico Riabilitativo Pompei”, Pompei (NA).

She won different awards, especially, her MSc thesis was awarded as the best thesis of 2016 on Autism Spectrum Disorder by the AIRA (Italian Association for Research on Autism Spectrum Disorder).

She is the author and co-author of several publications and she was a speaker in national and international conferences.
